Ever since they debuted in 1993 with the release of Topps Finest, refractors have been one of the most sought-after parallels in the sports card market. Usually seeded at a rate of 1 per box, collectors have enjoyed chasing these cards and often paying top dollar for their favorite player. Although the formula has changed today, it’s not hard to see why these cards were so popular when first released.
My goal for this site, and myself, is to attempt to collect 1 refractor per year from each set that Topps produced in the 1990s. While the majority of refractors will be easy to obtain, others may be a bit more difficult due to scarcity, such as the 1998 Bowman Chrome Golden Anniversary Refractors #/5.
The galleries on this site include cards that I personally own. I will not add a card image to the collection that isn’t mine. I may post an image of it over on the blog if I’m writing about it, but I do not want to deceive readers into thinking I have something if I really don’t. Plus, I’m not too keen on stealing other collectors’ images, especially if a card is serial numbered.
Thanks for stopping by!
